Apple App Store Publishing Readiness

Last updated: August 26, 2026
Apple submission checklist: This page is an internal/public NK TECH reference. Apple requirements depend on the app, platform, features, SDKs and distribution method. Always verify against the current Apple Developer documentation before submission.

Privacy Policy URL

Every iOS app needs a publicly accessible Privacy Policy URL in App Store Connect. The policy must identify data collected, collection methods, uses, third-party sharing/protection, retention/deletion and how users can revoke consent or request deletion.

App Privacy / Nutrition Label

Complete App Privacy in App Store Connect for every app. Declare applicable data types collected by the app and relevant third-party partners, how data is used, whether it is linked to the user, and whether it is used for tracking.

Account Deletion

If the app supports account creation, provide a clear in-app way to initiate account deletion. If deletion cannot be completed in-app, Apple requires a direct link to the webpage where users can do it; the link should be easy to discover and not buried in legal pages.

Privacy Manifests

Review the app and all relevant third-party SDKs for Apple's privacy manifest requirements, including collected data declarations, tracking and required-reason APIs.

Permissions and Purpose Strings

For protected resources such as camera, microphone, photos, location and contacts, use the appropriate system permission APIs and provide clear purpose descriptions where required.

App Tracking Transparency

If the app tracks users across apps or websites as defined by Apple's policies, use the required App Tracking Transparency permission flow and accurately disclose tracking.

Sign in with Apple

Review the applicable Sign in with Apple requirements when the app offers third-party or social login. The correct login design depends on the app's account and authentication architecture.

Accessibility

Apple now provides Accessibility Nutrition Labels on supported product pages. We should assess and accurately describe the accessibility features of each app where applicable.

Apple Developer Resources

Use the current App Review Guidelines, App Privacy documentation, App Privacy reference, and Apple's privacy documentation when preparing each submission.
